Age, metallicity and abundance pattern compilation for Galactic globular clusters

Preamble

This website provides members of the astrophysical community with a convenient tabulation of known measurements of the ages, metallicities and chemical abundance patterns for Galactic globular clusters (GGCs). This compilation is carried out for the 41 GGCs with high-quality optical spectra in Schiavon et al. (2005). The original intent of this work was indeed to enable rigorous validations of stellar population synthesis models designed to simultaneously measure the ages, metallicities and abundance patterns for unresolved stellar systems. Given this sample's wide coverage of GGC parameter space, the data presented here may be of service to a variety of endeavours, including studies of the formation of the Milky Way, stellar evolution and stellar nucleosynthesis. Data Tables

The following table lists the mean values of the measured ages, metallicities and abundance ratios (Mg, C, N, Ca, O, Na, Si, Cr and Ti) for each GGC in our sample. The compiled data for any individual cluster can be downloaded by clicking on its name. The data tables list abundance ratios measured from individual stars, partitioned according to their respective sources. The first and second columns give the ID and evolutionary stage of each star. Conversely, ages and metallicities are provided as single values per contributing source. Metallicities are presented as such since our recommended values for this parameter are based on the mean metallicity measured by each source. The full bibliographic record for each source listed within all 41 data tables can be obtained by clicking on the file 'references-key.txt', shown at left.
