Christmas Day, 2000, provided perfect weather for viewing the partial solar eclipse from Kingston, Canada -- absolutely clear and -16 degrees Celsius!

The following images are a series taken by Judith Irwin in Kingston Township. They show multiple images of the partially elipsed sun in the shadow of some evergreen trees. The densely packed needles of the tree make many "pinhole cameras", producing corresponding images of the sun on the ground. Note that the images are inverted. The north (top) part of the sun was actually blocked by the moon as seen in the sky.
